Privacy Policy

MentoringU ("we," "us," or "our") operates the LMS Genie Suite™ of tools, including browser-based web tools at lmsgenieapp.com and subscriber.lmsgenieapp.com, and Google Sheets Editor add-ons distributed via the Google Workspace Marketplace. This policy explains what data our tools access, how it is used, and how it is protected.
1. What Data Our Tools Access
Browser-Based Tools (lmsgenieapp.com)
Tools like Embed Genie run entirely in your browser. No data is transmitted to our servers or any third party. All processing happens locally on your device.
Subscriber Tools (subscriber.lmsgenieapp.com)
Subscriber tools require authentication via Auth0. We collect your email address for account management and access control. Subscriber tools that process files (such as Translator Genie) temporarily handle file content on our server infrastructure during processing. Files are not permanently stored and are deleted after your session or download.
Google Sheets Add-ons (Google Workspace Marketplace)
Our Google Sheets add-ons access the following data:

2. What Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect, transmit, or store your spreadsheet data on our servers
- We do not have access to your LMS API credentials — they are stored in your personal Google account
- We do not access any Google files or data beyond the active spreadsheet you are working in
- We do not track your usage behavior, build user profiles, or serve advertisements
- We do not sell, share, or monetize any user data
3. Third-Party Services
Our tools interact with the following third-party services:
- Your LMS platform (LearnUpon, TalentLMS, etc.) — Add-ons send API requests directly to your LMS instance using your credentials. We do not proxy, intercept, or log these requests.
- Auth0 — Used for subscriber authentication. Auth0 processes your email address for login purposes. See Auth0's Privacy Policy.
- Stripe — Used for subscription billing. Stripe processes your payment information. We do not store credit card data. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Anthropic — Translator Genie uses the Anthropic Claude API for translation. Course text is sent to the API for processing. Anthropic does not retain or train on data submitted via their API. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
4. OAuth Scopes (Google Sheets Add-ons)
Our add-ons request the minimum permissions necessary to function:

We do not request access to your email, calendar, Drive files, or any other Google services beyond what is listed above.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
- Google Sheets add-ons: No user data is retained by MentoringU. Your LMS credentials are stored in your Google account and can be deleted at any time using the "Clear Settings" option in the add-on menu.
- Subscriber accounts: Your email and subscription status are retained while your account is active. To delete your account, contact us and we will remove your data within 30 days.
- Translated files: Files processed by Translator Genie are temporarily stored during processing and are automatically deleted after download or session expiry. They are not permanently retained.
6. Security
We follow industry security practices to protect your data:
- All API credentials are stored in environment variables or Google's encrypted UserProperties — never hardcoded in source code
- All external communications use HTTPS encryption
- Subscriber authentication uses Auth0 with industry-standard protocols
- Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your payment details
- We conduct regular security reviews of our codebase and infrastructure
7. Children's Privacy
Our tools are designed for professional use by adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. International Users
Our services are operated from the United States. If you are accessing our tools from outside the US, please be aware that data may be processed in the US. For Google Sheets add-ons, your data remains in your Google account and is subject to Google's data processing terms. For subscriber tools, authentication and billing data may be processed by our US-based service providers (Auth0, Stripe).
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "last updated" date. Continued use of our tools after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
